For those of you who are wondering when the release date for PlayStation 5 and Death Stranding 2 will be, we may have some good news. The game’s director Video Kolyma just tweeted a cryptic teaser with a PS5 logo. Though it’s not clear what this means, there are speculations that it’s teasing something new.

For those that do not understand: the very first game took two years to launch after entering complete production in 2017 and launching in 2019. Assuming these timelines are comparable, the game will not be out next year or perhaps in 2024 like some are presuming. The latter is possible, but a 2025 release date appears most likely at this moment.

The update originates from Norman Reeds, who plays Sam Bridges, the protagonist of the very first video game and relatively the protagonist of its sequel. According to Reeds, he’s only now beginning to do motion capture for the game.

This isn’t the greatest news if you’re preparing for the new ps5 video game. It doesn’t validate the game is still in the early stages of advancement, however it hints at this as movement capture work typically begins at the start of production.
