Housemarque is in the initial stage of development of a new IP
Ilari Kuittinen, CEO of Housemarque, has commented that the study is working on a new intellectual property.
In an interview with Venturebeat, Kuittinen has commented that “we are in the first days of the beginning of a new game, a new IP, preparing the concept. We’ll see what comes out there.”
“We are the latest dinosaurs creating arcade games (…) We have tried luck working on multiplayer games, because a few years ago it seemed that you had to create a multiplayer experience yes or yes. We tried and we did not do it so well.”
Harry Krueger, director of Return, comments that “we are trying to maintain that identity. It is great that now games have grown and evolved so much that there are a lot of variety and diversity of game experiences. All can coexist peacefully. There may be games like service, games Multiplayer, games with different sensibilities. Rorthin is simply another voice. At this point we are very proud of what we have achieved with RURNAL and we are very excited to follow the same career as a company. “
Housemarque signed last year the Roguelike Roguelike Roguelike (here you can read our analysis) after a long arcade game race such as Super Stardust, Nex Machina or Resogun.
In the month of June Sony announced the purchase of the Finnish study.
