Bernd Bettendorf finally goes as a great favorite in the Presidential election at the German Football Association (DFB). The Conference of the State and Regional Association Chefs unanimously agreed on Thursday with abstention to propose the President of the Football Association Mittelrhein (FM).

Bettendorf had been nominated by the national associations in mid-November. The 60-year-old goes against Peter Peters to the race. The current co-interim president of the DFB was proposed together with Bettendorf by the football and athletics association Westphalia (FLOW).

Both candidates have introduced themselves to their programs in the regional organizations over the past few days. The DFB delegates elect on the DFB Bundestag in Frankfurt / Main on 11 March of the coming year at the DFB Bundestag in Fritz Keller.

About a possible candidate of the women’s initiative Football can more was recently speculated again and again. The nomination period runs until the 10th of February.
